Tanco manufacture the most comprehensive range of bale wrappers on the market at their Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow, Ireland factory and distribute to over 40 countries worldwide. The Tanco range of wrapper’s consist of both conventional turntable and satellite type machines for round and square bales. Building on years of technical know-how in the development of forage equipment Tanco have created a new triple mower system with front and rear overall cutting and conditioning widths of 8.9m and 9.8m. The Tanco AUTOCUT front and rear triple mowers have been built from the ground up and designed to deliver greater productivity through improved weight distribution and lower horsepower requirement per cutting metre combined with wide cutting widths. At ScotGrass 2022 Tanco will be demonstrating their range of wrapper’s and the AUTOCUT mower.
The Tanco AUTOCUT mowers are fitted with COMER Heavy Duty 56 Series cutter bars with shear hub protection and quick attach blades are used in the Tanco Autocut. The Heavy Duty 56 Series uses 25mm gear’s, 58 teeth on the drive gear’s and 18 teeth on the driven gears. Cutting widths of 2.8m (9ft 2’) are achieved with the 7-disc M3.c front mower, and overall’s widths of 8.9m (9ft 2’) with the M9.c 8-disc and 9.8m (32ft 2’) for the M10.c 9-disc rear mowers. The Autocut conditioners are fitted with steel tines that are of a ‘semi-swing’ design.
The front AUTOCUT M3.c mower is a ‘pull type’ front mower and uses a rail system to achieve 850mm of vertical travel, ±16˚ of bed movement left and right and 19˚ travel front to back, this is a product of 680mm travel along the rail and provides the M3.c mower with superb contour following capability.
The wheels of the rear Tanco AUTOCUT M9 & M10 mowers steer 40˚ through a linkage system connected to the Autocut headstock, as the tractor turn’s the Autocut wheel’s steer. The steering system features a unique system that Tanco call Active Steer. Active Steer allows the Autocut rear wheel steering to be controlled via the tractor hydraulics for extra manoeuvrability and will reset to centre when the tractor hydraulics are put into the float position. The Active Steer system also incorporates a fast and slow reaction steering, when the Autocut mower beds are lowered Active Steer is in the fast reaction position, and when the Autocut mower beds are in the raised position Active Steer is in the slow reaction position. The Active Steer system fast reaction ensures the Autocut rear mower’s follow the line of the tractor when mowing as well as ensuring easy manoeuvrability when the mower beds are raised.
From when Tanco was founded in 1966 they have always used innovative designs and processes to create machinery that is highly regarded by their customer’s not only for consistency and durability, but for uncompromising quality and this has continued through to the present day with the Tanco Autocut mower.
The Tanco demonstration plot at ScotGrass 2022 is Plot 7 and the Tanco range of bale wrapper’s and Autocut mower’s will be both on display and working.
